Report: Liverpool makes a surprise move for a £100 million midfielder in a record-breaking deal to beat off rivals.

As Jurgen Klopp attempts to outbid Premier League opponents, Liverpool is planning to make a move for a superstar who is valued at £100 million.

The Reds began one of their most ambitious rebuilds in recent memory with a low budget. However, in recent weeks, Klopp has noticed a lift in the bank account thanks to the unexpected sales of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho, two seasoned midfield generals.

The sales appear to have allowed Liverpool to reinvest, and now significant funds might be used to increase the squad’s depth.

The Athletic recently claimed that “unnamed club” is competing with Chelsea for Moises Caicedo, and Football Insider has confirmed that the unnamed club is Liverpool.

This summer, the Reds had previously dealt with Caicedo’s employers, Brighton & Hove Albion, when they signed Alexis Mac Allister, another general in the Amex’s midfield. Additionally, they were able to acquire Mac Allister for merely £35 million thanks to an expedited deal between the two teams.

Despite Caicedo’s evident wish to go, the Seagulls are standing fast in their nine-figure assessment of their asset and aren’t giving in to pressure to part with it. Because Brighton used Declan Rice’s £105 million transfer to Arsenal as a gauge of the value of their own stars, the Ecuadorian signed a new contract last season to protect his value.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Chelsea’s £80 million proposal was rejected.
