The midfielder who returned from a season-long loan with Besiktas this summer, seems to be stepping up his preparations to be able to play for the Merseyside outfit this year.

And it also appears he could be a part of Sean Dyche’s plans for the upcoming campaign, with the Toffees also handing him back the No 20 shirt, notably his favourite number when he played for Tottenham.

Alli went out on loan to Besiktas in the summer of 2023 and made just 15 appearances for the Turkish side before returning to Everton.

Earlier this year he also appeared in a powerful interview on Gary Neville’s show The Overlap, opening up on some of the difficulties he has experienced during his life while also detailing his desire to get back to his best on the pitchAnd it seems like he is stepping up preparations to make a return to first-team football with the Toffees, having been seen earlier this summer training on his own.

Yesterday he was pictured posing for a photo at Finch Farm alongside team-mates Alex Iwobi and Ashley Young, smiling and holding his thumbs up as the trio walked towards the training pitches.

The England international was also seen training next to Sean Dyche, who equally seemed in good spirits, patting Alli on the back as he participated in the training session.

He arrived at Everton on deadline day back in 2022 on a permanent deal that will see Everton pay Tottenham £10million when he has plays 20 games.

Having featured just 13 times for the Toffees, Alli will take his old No 20 jersey off Neal Maupay who will now don the No 13 shirt.

On his arrival at Goodison Park, the former Spurs forward would wear the No 36 shirt before switching to No 20, which is notably his favourite number.

He is not the only player to be changing numbers this summer at Everton, with James Tarkowski swapping to take the No 6 shirt, previously worn by David Unsworth, Mikel Arteta, Phil Jagielka and Allan.

Meanwhile Nathan Patterson will swap his No 3 jersey to take the number two shirt from Tarkowski, which has also been worn by Tony Hibbert, Mason Holgate, and Jonjoe Kenny
