That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who has reported that there is ‘concrete chance’ that the winger will leave PSV in the final days of the summer transfer window.

Everton have been linked with a move for PSV in recent weeks, with Sacha Tavolieri recently claiming that they are eager to join the likes of Crystal Palace and Paris Saint-Germain in the race for his signature.

Bakayoko enjoyed a breakthrough season in the Netherlands last time out, netting five goals and providing five assists in the Eredivisie. The forward has continued his fine form into the current campaign, providing four assists in only three matches in the Champions League.

The Belgian’s brilliant performances for PSV have led to huge demand for his signature and the Toffees are said to be one of a high number of clubs interested in signing him.

Despite still having four years left on his contract, Romano believes PSV are willing to offload him before deadline day.

Johan Bakayoko could move to the Premier League – but will it be with Everton?

Writing on his Twitter, Romano said: “Understand there’s concrete chance to see Johan Bakayoko leaving PSV in the final days of the window with clubs now pushing.

“This is likely due to Hirving Lozano who’s on the verge of joining PSV Eindhoven — his return from Napoli is imminent.”

Lozano left the Dutch giants for Napoli in 2019, but his return may see Bakayoko forced out of the starting line-up once again.

Bakayoko could be a very good signing for Everton, though they are likely to have to splash out if they are to win the bidding war. Romano has already reported that Burnley had a £17 million bid rejected for the 20-year-old last week and there could well be a flurry of new offers over the next few days.
