Scarlett is generating a lot of buzz, not only at Tottenham but also among England’s young players, as the striker has been a consistent member of the Under-20 and Under-19 teams over the previous few seasons.

The 19-year-old was part of the side that won the Under-19 European Championship last year before representing the Under-20s at the World Cup during the summer.

Scarlett spent last season on loan at Portsmouth but after a bright start to his spell at Fratton Park, he faded away a bit in the second half of the campaign.

Scarlett discovered he will join the Young Lions team as they started their European Championship qualification campaign not long after completing his move to Portman Road.

The England Under-21 team will depart for Luxembourg on Monday, September 11 to play their first group stage match under new head coach Lee Carsley.

Being called up to the England Under-21 team after just turning 19 is undoubtedly a feat, especially given the wealth of skill that the Young Lions have.
