Although Middlesbrough had a busy summer, that does not imply that the current lineup under Michael Carrick is perfect. Here are six unsigned players who are available for Boro to consider adding to their present roster in light of that.
“Josh Onomah, a recent graduate of the Tottenham Hotspur academy, is the second of the three midfielders on this list. The Englishman played 32 times for Spurs before signing a permanent contract with Fulham, another club from London. Onomah was released in the summer after being transferred to Preston North End in January. He is currently without a team. He spent the entire preseason working out with Stoke, but nothing happened. The midfielder would give Middlesbrough’s midfield a little more depth, and at 26 years old, he might also turn out to be a long-term asset.
Joshua Guilavogui completes our midfield choices, and while having worked for notable companies like Wolfsburg and Atletico Madrid in the past, his salary demands are not unreasonable. It would not be wise to sign Guilavogui to a long-term contract at the age of 32, but given his skill at both central defense and the base of the midfield, he may succeed in the near future.
