Avoiding free agents was the right move for Liverpool and Jürgen Klopp because FSG discovered better deals………………

Many Liverpool supporters wanted the team to sign Youri Tielemans in the summer, but the player’s present circumstances demonstrates that Jürgen Klopp made the right transfer choice.

I came to Aston Villa to play' - Tielemans hits out at 'not pleasant' situation and reveals Emery talks

Four new midfield players were added to Liverpool’s roster as part of the club’s squad evolution over the summer, but it was early in the transfer window that many supporters were optimistic about a possible transfer for Youri Tielemans.

The international player from Belgium eventually switched to Aston Villa on a free transfer, but things haven’t exactly gone according to plan since he joined the Villans from the Foxes. In four replacement appearances, he has only played 94 minutes in the Premier League.

In his 18-minute stint in the second half of the last match against Liverpool, he only completed 10 passes. It’s been a stark contrast to the 31 Premier League games he started for Leicester City last year.

The 26-year-old also expressed his displeasure with the current state of affairs in a pre-match press conference prior to Belgium’s play against Azerbaijan in a European Championship qualifying match.

Tielemans stated the following to media prior to the match, as reported by Goal:

“The circumstances are unpleasant. I volunteered to play for Villa, and I informed the coach that. He recognizes my point of view, but at the moment he favors using his two midfielders from the previous campaign.

He assured me that I would soon get more playing time since the games will come one after the other. I am aware that my response is ineffective, but what should I do?

The Belgian wasted no time in addressing the media after failing to beat Boubacar Kamara or Douglas Luiz into Unai Emery’s starting lineup. His candor about his circumstance is good from the viewpoint of a fan, even though some may find it offensive.

The Premier League has only had four games so far, and like many new hires, there may need to be some adjustment time to the new system. But given the superiority of Liverpool against Aston Villa the previous time around, perhaps that is the reason Tielemans feels as though he should start for Unai Emery’s team.

Tielemans should be appreciative of the rest given the 33,600 minutes he has played in at age 26. Given that the Belgian has played an incredibly excessive amount of football for his age, Liverpool and FSG may have kept it in mind. Against this, Alexis Mac Allister, who turns 25 this year, has accrued 12,200 minutes in his career.

For playing time in the middle of the field, Tielemans would have faced competition from Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott. Recent performances by both products of the Liverpool academy have been outstanding, difficult for the Belgian to match.

Tielemans is one of the most recent celebrities to have a failed transfer in the social media age. Fans are quick to demand which players are acquired and sold. When Liverpool sees a target who fits the system, FSG won’t be hesitant to make an approach. Klopp has demonstrated that patience can win out in the transfer market.

That was demonstrated by the agreements for Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, both of whom appear to be excellent transfers that the Reds made in the summer, and Youri Tielemans whose ceiling is unknown.
