Youri Tielemans not happy after Leicester City exit

The midfielder discusses his first few months at Villa Park after leaving City on a free transfer in the most recent Leicester City news.

Youri Tielemans, a former midfielder for Leicester City, has acknowledged that his present situation at Aston Villa is “not pleasant” because he isn’t getting enough playing time.

One of the athletes that left the King Power Stadium this summer on a free transfer when his contract expired was the Belgian international. An agreement to go to Villa was announced early in the transfer period.

Tielemans is yet to make a Premier League debut though since his move across the midlands. He has started all four of his league games off the bench in the second half.

For his new team, he has only made one start, playing the entire 90 minutes of the second leg of the Europa Conference League play-off against Hibernian. Villa had a 5-0 lead after the first leg.

Tielemans is currently serving abroad alongside his old teammate Wout Faes. Both players were selected to start Saturday’s Euro qualifying match between Belgium and Azerbaijan.

Tielemans spoke about his situation at Villa after moving there from City before the game, and it was evident from his response that he is dissatisfied with the amount of playing time he is receiving.

“I am aware that this response will not enable me to proceed, but what should I do? I want to seize every chance that comes my way. I’ve only made one start so far, which was in the Conference League against Hibernian.

After four and a half years at City, the move to Villa marked the end of that time. Tielemans was one of the first names on the roster at that time.

He participated in 195 games for the team, scoring 28 goals, including the game-winning goal in the FA Cup final in 2021. When City’s relegation from the Premier League was officially announced in May, he made his last appearance in the 2-1 victory over West Ham.
