It seems that Vlachodimos is currently receiving a lot of media attention in Portugal. Newspaper O Jogo is where one of the stories is from.

It all began because Anatoliy Trubin, who recently joined Benfica after a €10 million transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk, has struggled to adjust to life in Lisbon.

Following that, O Jogo draws attention to Bruno Costa Carvalho’s statement that Vlachodimos shouldn’t have traveled to Nottingham Forest: “The 90% of Benfica supporters who disparaged Vlachodimos should be embarrassed of their words. I was one of the few that consistently stood up for him.

According to former goalkeeper José Bizarro, Odysseas Vlachodimos was more of a victim than a defendant, according to daily Jornal de Noticias. He gave Benfica more in five years than he took from them. I think the majority of Benfica supporters concur with me.

All Portuguese news sources note that Benfica supporters have been bombarding Vlachodimos’ social media accounts with messages urging him to return from Nottingham Forest.

The goalkeeper sat on the bench during the Reds’ game against Burnley, so he hasn’t even made his Reds debut yet.

According to the club’s stance adopted following January, a deal involving Nottingham Forest is “unlikely.”

According to rumors in Brazil, it seems unlikely that Gustavo Scarpa, a midfielder for Nottingham Forest, would make a move back to Palmeiras in the upcoming January transfer window.

The player signed a season-long loan agreement with Olympiacos in the summer, but earlier this week there were rumors that Palmeiras and Flamengo, a rival Brazilian club, were interested in a possible move for him in the winter window.

Scarpa left Palmeiras for Forest in January on a free transfer, but he only made six Premier League appearances for Forest before the season ended due to a combination of personal issues and injuries. Since moving to Greece, Scarpa has made five appearances across all competitions; most recently, he substituted in the second half of the Super League match against AEK Athens last weekend. However, he did not play in the Europa League match against Freiburg on Thursday night.

Despite the rumors, it is now asserted that a return to Brazil is not likely. According to Sport Witness’ translation of UOL journalist Flavio Latif, Palmeiras do not currently have plans to sign the player.

The 29-year-old played 211 times for the Brazilian team while there, making 51 assists in addition to his 37 goals. The midfielder impressed with his first few cameo outings for the team, and Forest was moved by his performance in Brazil.

He will try to get back into shape for Olympiacos this year. Scarpa’s contract at the City Ground expires in the summer of 2019, therefore after his loan period is through, he will be free to join another team.
