After Carlisle United’s statements, Portsmouth’s manager adopts an unusual approach………….

The American family looking to purchase United watched as the squad fell at Fratton Park, 1-0.

Before the game, Tom Piatak Sr. and his wife Patty met fans in the pub. They later sat with Blues directors.

It followed a week of conversations that were deemed “positive” as a change of leadership at the top of Carlisle appeared to be approaching.

Simpson expressed his belief that Brunton Park’s potential for significant change can now materialize.

Without a doubt, Simpson believed that the Piataks’ presence at Pompey was a good thing.

I can only base my opinion on what I’ve read or heard in the news, but it’s definitely a good thing that they’re here.

When I got off the plane and sat up in the directors’ box, I actually saw them.

Simpson expressed his belief that Brunton Park’s potential for significant change can now materialize.

“We need that, we need that positivity, we need this shift to occur for the good of the football club, for the purpose of us trying to move forward.

“It’s clear that everyone involved believes it to be the right thing, and now we just have to wait and see.”

Two days after Blues CEO Nigel Clibbens gave a significant update on the takeover, the Piataks traveled to the south coast.

The United director said a “resolution” was “close” on the club’s debt situation with Purepay Retail Limited.

Clibbens said it had been a “positive” week in that respect and the chief executive suggested there were no grounds for concern with the other aspects of the takeover process, such as the drawing up of new shareholder agreements and the EFL regulatory process.

Tom Piatak Sr. had previously stated to the News & Star that he hoped to complete the transaction between October 14 and October 20 through his company Castle Sports Group.

Even though that spell is now over, things seem to be moving forward.
