Transfer Talk: Man City looks into a Musiala deal

Manchester City is looking into a possible trade for Jamal Musiala, a young star for Bayern Munich.

The 20-year-old attacking midfielder’s contract at the Allianz Arena expires in 2026, and he has only started three Bundesliga games this year.

Football Insider claims that the Premier League winners are aware of Musiala’s contract situation and his alleged concerns regarding playing time under Thomas Tuchel.

With 12 goals in 33 Bundesliga games, the Germany international was a standout performer for Bayern the previous season.

After securing the Bavarians’ 11th consecutive title with a late goal against FC Cologne in May of last year, Musiala was named in the German top flight’s Team of the Season.

The Stuttgart native, who rose through Chelsea’s ranks, may be City’s long-term replacement for Kevin De Bruyne. He has played in England.

Before leaving the Blues in 2019, Musiala spent eight years in the youth system, and Rio Ferdinand had previously expressed his confusion at being permitted to leave West London.

Earlier this month, the former England defender said, “I don’t know how Chelsea let him go.” What a gifted child this is. He makes me think of Kaka. It’s difficult to say, but he seems even more refined.”
