Aldershot and Farnborough sign a non league agreement with the Reading Academy pair

Local non-league moves for Reading FC Academy pair

Aaron Kuhl and Dejan Tetek, both graduates of the Reading Academy, have signed non-league contracts with Farnborough and Aldershot Town, respectively.

Kuhl, the son of the late coach Martin Kuhl, played for eight times for the first squad in 2014–15 after leading the Under-21s to Premier League Cup victory the previous year.

His most recent club was Dorking Wanderers. He represented England at the Under-19 and Under-20 levels.

The 27-year-old will go on loan from Dorking to Farnborough of the National League South, where his deal will run through January 2024.

“Aaron comes on loan from Dorking Wanderers and is someone I’ve wanted in a Boro shirt for a long time,” manager Spencer Day said. He is a Farnborough resident who, in my opinion, will immediately win the hearts of the crowd.

Tetek, who left Reading in the summer, has since made a permanent move to the National League.

The Serbia Under-21 international, who played 21 times for the main team while becoming a regular under Veljko Paunovic, battled injuries in his final season with the Royals.

The 21-year-old signed to Aldershot until January 2024 after a brief trial with Wycombe Wanderers.

Tommy Widdrington, the first-team manager, stated: “Dejan is initially joining us on a short-term deal after a brief period in which he has trained with the group.”

“In the short time he’s been here, he’s proven why he’s already made 17 Championship appearances and earned international honors with three England u18 caps and five Serbia u21 caps!”

“Following a period of time out injured, his career has “stuttered” somewhat, but we hope he finds his a-game with us: which is as a combative but also a technically good central midfielder, and I’m sure all connected with The Shots will welcome him to The EBB Stadium.”
