Leicester City Might Lose £31 Million in Two Different Ways in January.

The manager of Leicester City, Enzo Maresca, feels that after his team’s 1-0 loss to Leeds United last night, the race for automatic promotion in the Championship is still very much open.

The Foxes entered the match between the two demoted teams riding a nine-game winning streak in the league, which had allowed them to pull ahead of second-place Ipswich Town by five points. But Georginio Rutter’s lone goal was sufficient to give the Whites a 1-0 victory at the King Power Stadium, inflicting Leicester just their second loss of the year.

Leeds has been moving up the table in the last few weeks despite having a slow start to the season. Last night’s win solidified their hold on third position. Despite having played two fewer games than the Yorkshire team, Ipswich leads them by six points, but they are still 11 points behind the leaders.

Maresca appreciated the caliber of the game and was pleased with the performance nonetheless. Following the incident, the 43-year-old spoke with the Yorkshire Post and stated:
