The veteran praised the fans for sticking with the squad “from start to finish” in a post on his X profile.
Newcastle United was coming to Goodison Park after defeating Manchester United, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain by a combined seven points. But they came away from Merseyside with nothing.
Three excellent goals from Everton propelled them out of the bottom three, just weeks after Eddie Howe’s team was docked ten points for noncompliance with financial fair play regulations.
Everton welcomed Seamus Coleman back to the team after he missed seven months due to injury. Everton had just defeated Nottingham Forest the previous weekend. As a result, Ashley Young, who had previously filled the Irishman’s defensive position, was forced into midfield.
Despite moving into a position he hadn’t played regularly since leaving Old Trafford, Young put on a solid display and expressed his joy on social media.

UTFT. While it’s reasonable to presume Coleman won’t be healthy enough to start against Chelsea, it will be intriguing to watch where he plays once everyone returns to normal.
On the right, Nathan Patterson is still an option as well, but if Coleman pushes his way back in, he might find himself moving down the ranks. Since September began, the Scot has only started one Premier League match.
