According to a local radio presenter, CB Jaire Alexander of the Green Bay Packers may no longer wish to play for the team.

On August 5, 2023, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin, during Family Night, Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander (age 23) signs autographs for spectators.

The Green Bay Packers have won their last three games and are now riding high. The fact that they accomplished it without Jaire Alexander, one of their finest players, makes it even more amazing. He had been suffering with injuries to his back and shoulder, about which the team has been wary. But according to ESPN Milwaukee’s Gary Ellerson, a local radio broadcaster, Alexander’s actions suggest that the standout cornerback no longer wants to play for the team.

Gary Ellerson suggests trading Jaire Alexander to the Green Bay Packers

Ellerson discussed his belief that Alexander wishes to leave Green Bay on the episode.

“Jaire Alexander may not want to be in Green Bay anymore, in my opinion. That is how it seems to me. Proceed now. I want the guys that are interested in playing here to do so.

Following a news conference in the locker room where Alexander engaged in his customary shenanigans, this occurred. Still, nothing seemed abnormal for the elite cornerback. Alexander was dressed in a lot of colors, as is customary for him. He was upbeat about the staff and the progress of his recovery. Ellerson says that his actions are a clear indication that he wants to move on. The radio presenter continues, urging the Packers to let him go and continue using Corey Ballentine and Carrington Vallentine.

Greater Than An Emotion

Before I fully trust this, I’m going to need more evidence than just my gut. Alexander’s news conference wasn’t that strange, in my opinion. Watch any of the past few years’ press conferences or interviews with Alexander. He is obviously in support of the team because during his news conference, he assured the media that they will be the ones setting the agenda. While I doubt Brian Gutekunst is actively trying to move their best corner, he should always be open to offers. The Packers want to ensure that Alexander is healthy for the long run, not just for week 14, despite the terrible injuries.

In the offseason, will the Packers consider any trade proposals for veterans? Perhaps, but if the team were to let Jaire Alexander go at this time, it would surprise me greatly.
