After overcoming persistent symptoms from several concussions, Shields stated in an interview with Michael Cohen of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that he feels “normal” and that he is prepared to return to football.
Shields stated, “You’re going to see the (number) 37 you remembered.” “Wherever I go, you’re going to see everything you saw in Green Bay.”
After suffering a concussion in Jacksonville’s opening game of the 2016 season, Shields was sidelined for the remainder of the campaign. The Pro Bowl cornerback said that following his most recent concussion, he suffered from constant headaches for several months.
He’s clearheaded now, though, and is optimistic that a team will give it a shot to get him back. He is optimistic that it will occur.
When asked if he would be signed by an NFL team, Shields responded, “Oh yeah, most definitely, man.” I believe they will since I am still able to run. That’s still within me. There will probably be a desire for that.

Before the 2010 season, Miami native Shields, an undrafted free agent, joined with the Packers and became an instant hit. He helped the Packers win a Super Bowl as a rookie by intercepting two passes during the regular season and two more in the NFC championship game in Chicago. Throughout his first six NFL seasons, he intercepted eighteen passes, and in 2014, he made his first trip to the Pro Bowl. After the 2014 season, he was re-signed by the Packers to a four-year, $39 million contract.
The Packers’ interest in getting back together is unknown. Shields seems upbeat about going back to Green Bay.
