Just Now : Boston Celtics make significant roster adjustments before the…..

On Tuesday night, the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers will play their opening game of the season. However, Boston needed to make significant roster adjustments before the Eastern Conference matchup.

Jrue Holiday believes he'll be embraced by 'insane' Celtics fans

Moving forward On Tuesday afternoon, the C’s waived Nathan Knight, who had a two-way deal. The 26-year-old had a strong performance in the G League despite never getting to participate in a regular season game for the Celtics.

In 22.9 minutes per game, Knight averaged 8.9 points and 8.3 rebounds for the Maine Celtics. Against the Delaware Blue Coats on Friday night, he even recorded an outstanding double-double with 14 points and 15 rebounds.

Before signing a two-way contract with the Atlanta Hawks in 2020, the 6-foot-8 big man was not selected in the draft. He subsequently played with the Minnesota Timberwolves for the next two seasons, appearing in 75 games but never clocking more than seven minutes per game on average.

Strangely, Knight’s finest performance in his NBA debut was against the C’s. On December 27, 2021, Knight scored 20 points in 29 minutes, a career high, to help a Minnesota club without players defeat Boston 108-103.

Knight will not be staying with the Celtics, despite his best efforts, which included shooting 44.6% from the field this season in the G-League. Rather, Boston adds a second two-way contract to its group.

Considering the Green Team’s current record of 16-5 overall, they place a lot more emphasis on building future talent at the top of the squad. But J.D. Davison, a 2022 second-round selection, has been utilizing his two-way reputation to the fullest, averaging 23.8 points and an astounding 8.8 assists per game in Maine. In the G-League, rookie Jordan Walsh of the Celtics has also excelled, averaging 14.6 points, 1.5 steals, and 6.3 rebounds per game.
