Done Deal: Leicester City signs a player from Reading FC

Leicester City signs a player from Reading FC, they cannot afford to:

Vickers would benefit from a brief return to Berkshire, but the Foxes must get guarantees on his playing time.

The Sun claims that Leicester City has been monitoring Reading attacker Caylan Vickers.

The 18-year-old, who made his breakthrough at the Select Car Leasing Stadium earlier this season, is also being watched by scouts from league rivals Norwich City and Celtic of the Scottish Premiership, according to the same article.

Although Arsenal and Real Madrid are also interested in Vickers, the three interested parties may be the underdogs in this race, but a £1 million sum might be sufficient to get his signature.

Caylan Vickers should be signed by Leicester City.

This is a price that the Foxes will undoubtedly be able to pay given the revenue they brought in from player sales throughout the summer.

Spending a seven-figure contract on a guy with very little senior-level experience would be a risky move, but Vickers has shown his value and will only improve with additional playing time.

He may not be able to play at a Championship level, but he is still young, so it wouldn’t be the end of the world if he had to return to the loan program.
