Great News: “The road to recovery begins now,” Reading Star sends message

“The road to recovery begins now,” the reading loanee writes following a successful procedure.

Dom Ballard, a Reading loanee, has stated that his surgery went smoothly in the wake of his Wycombe Wanderers season-ending injury.

The 18-year-old, who was on loan from Southampton, finished the season with five goals in 12 games, although he injured his patella tendon during the Royals’ 2-1 victory over Wycombe Wanderers.

The striker, who is seeing a surgeon in London, might go away for up to a year.

Russell Martin, the head coach of the Saints, stated to the Southern Daily Echo: “It went well. I previously chatted with Dom, and we have subsequently exchanged a few messages.I have no doubt that he is in excruciating bodily and mental suffering. He’s a bright young man, quite strong, and vivacious. What a shame.

“He had an amazing trip abroad with England, and he was just beginning to come into his own at Reading. It does occur occasionally.”

The teenager said on Instagram, “Operation was successful ✅ The path to healing begins right now.”

He was Reading’s second-leading scorer going into the new campaign.

He’ll be back to the pitch as early as next year begins after the break ends.
