For good cause, all five of your Los Angeles Lakers’ regular starters might not play tonight. They will play the 3-20 San Antonio Spurs, who are currently on an absurdly embarrassing 18-game losing run, one of the NBA’s real JV teams. Starting point guard D’Angelo Russell and starting small forward Cam Reddish are the most recent starters to have their game statuses downgraded to questionable prior to tonight’s play, according to Jovan Buha of The Athletic. D-Lo’s stated illness is a migraine, while Reddish is allegedly suffering from a sore right knee.

Due to a left calf contusion, small forward LeBron James missed Wednesday night’s game, the second of two games in a row. For tonight, the 38-year-old is still dubious. Due to his ongoing hip spasm and left adductor problems, Anthony Davis, who played against San Antonio on Wednesday and scored 37 points and pulled down 10 rebounds, is questionable. Taurean Prince, the starting shooting guard, is likewise dubious.

The only rotation Laker who has been officially ruled out of the festivities for the evening is reserve guard Gabe Vincent. Only four games hath he participated in this year. Jarred Vanderbilt, a reserve power forward, is expected to play despite missing LA’s season opener against the Spurs due to a low back spasm, according to the league’s most recent injury report. Although neither Jalen Hood-Schifino nor Max Christie are significant contributors, they are both out tonight as rookies.

Even without three starters with Vincent out due to injury, the 15-10 Lakers could definitely still pull off a victory over this terrible Spurs team. But San Antonio might actually win a game for the first time since November 2nd if six of their best eight players—all but Austin Reaves and Vanderbilt—play hooky.
