Just Now : Atlanta Braves are in danger because of the trade of…………

Though it was not the move Braves supporters had hoped for, Alex Anthopoulos made a move nonetheless. In exchange for LHP Ray Kerr and DH Matt Carpenter, the Atlanta Braves sent minor league outfielder Drew Campbell to the San Diego Padres.

Braves fans at SunTrust Park feel the pain of season-ending loss

The Braves selected Louisville native Drew Campbell in the 23rd round of the 2019 draft. Playing for the Braves’ AA affiliate, the Mississippi Braves, last season, Campbell had a.254 batting average, nine home runs, and thirty RBI. Having been selected as an All-Star in 2022, this was his first season in AA. Campbell batted with the Rome Braves with an average of.271.

Ray Kerr is a left-handed pitcher from Lassen Community College in California, who is 29 years old. Last season, he made his Major League Baseball (MLB) debut as a Padre, pitching in seven games and ending with a 0-0 record and 9.00 ERA. Kerr again used the bullpen this season, finishing with a 4.33 ERA with a 1-1 record despite making 22 appearances and 27 innings pitched. The Braves can also use Kerr, another lefty, out of the bullpen.

Left-handed designated hitter Matt Carpenter, 38, is still capable of hitting like the greatest hitters. 2023 was not his best season; he batted.176 in the end, down from his 2022.305 average when playing with the Yankees. Carpenter can play both first and third base, but I think his primary function on the team will be as a bench bat if he stays on the roster.
