Reading FC | STAR and Reading Football Club win Football Supporters' Association 'Supporter Engagement Award'

Chelsea teenager Ben Elliott has left the club permanently, moving to Reading yesterday. The Royals have signed the 20-year-old midfielder to a three-year contract. He had one year left on his former Chelsea deal, but it appears that he has been granted a free move.

Reading FC | Ben Elliott signs on a permanent deal from Chelsea

Elliott, who has overcome a number of injury concerns in recent years and has one senior cap for Cameroon, has been at Chelsea since a young age and appears to be leaving on good terms.

It’s time to say good-by to Chelsea after 14 years. I’d like to thank my teammates, as well as the entire staff and coaches, for all of their assistance over the years. I made so many wonderful experiences and met so many wonderful people at the club, and it will always hold a special place in my heart.”

Reading have been relegated to the third tier for the first time in more than two decades, after being relegated from the Championship previous season (despite Cesare Casadei’s best efforts). Maybe Elliott can help them recover.

Sagoe making progress at Arsenal

Sagoe, who came through Arsenal’s youth system, is having a strong season for the Gunners.

The attacker has appeared in eight Premier League 2 games for the club’s Under 21s, scoring once.

He has also played for Arsenal’s Under 21s in the EFL Trophy, where he scored against Exeter City’s first-team, and has played four times and scored once for Arsenal’s Under 19s in the UEFA Youth League.

Aside from that, Sagoe earned his senior debut for Arsenal earlier this season, appearing for 68 minutes in a 1-0 win over Brentford in the fourth round of the League Cup in September.

The teenager now appears to be in line for a move during the January transfer window in order to gain more first-team experience.
