Discusses Kristaps Porzingis’ Difficulty Guarding in the team due to…

What to Eat at TD Garden, Home of the Celtics and Bruins - Eater Boston

Naz Reid claimed on a recent edition of Run Your Race that Kristaps Porzingis was the first player in the NBA to significantly outperform him. Reid, the rookie at the time, said that his coach couldn’t give him any advise.

“Porzingis was simply firing from the logo. What exactly do you want me to do? I’m a ‘bro’. Coach is looking at me like, ‘That’s Porzingis,’ he says. ‘How am I expected to adjust?’ I think to myself. You want me to go up there and guard him?’. ‘I don’t want you to go up there and protect him because he’s going to blast by you,’ he says.”

Reid is referring to the Minnesota Timberwolves’ March 1st, 2020 game against the Dallas Mavericks, in which Porzingis scored 38 points. The Timberwolves center had a 108 defensive rating.

Porzingis is averaging 19.2 points and 6.9 rebounds per game this season. The Boston Celtics, his current team, have the best record in the Eastern Conference.

Reid is also having team success in the first three months of the season. Minnesota has the most wins in the Western Conference.
