The Detroit Lions will look back on the 2023 campaign as a huge success.

They won a division title for the first time since 1993 and tied the franchise record for wins in a season (12). It was their first time back at Ford Field and their first playoff game since that same season. It was really great that they triumphed over the Los Angeles Rams and Tampa Bay Buccaneers twice, with the home crowd providing an especially hostile atmosphere for both postseason victories. They also won, which was a first for the team since 1991.

They are positioned to be a strong team for the foreseeable future; they are the “Brand New Lions”. Though there’s no assurance they’ll return to the NFC championship game, things look promising.

5. EDGE Charles Harris

It’s been all downhill for Harris since a breakout performance in his first season as a Lion in 2021, when he led the team with 7.5 sacks, whether by coincidence or not as the team has improved. He was sidelined last season due to an injury that ultimately cost him playing time. He had a sizable role to begin the season, but a downward trend in snap counts made him a rather predictable healthy scratch in Week 7. It turns out that was a sign of things to come for the remainder of his season.
