Veteran C Cam Gallagher signs a minor league contract with the Phillies.

Catcher Cam Gallagher was invited to major league spring training by the Philadelphia Phillies, who also signed him to a minor league deal on Sunday.

The 31-year-old Gallagher has participated in 227 games over his seven major league seasons, with the Kansas City Royals (2017–22) and Cleveland Guardians (2023). He joined the Guardians as a free agent last season, and in 143 at-bats over 56 games, he batted.126.

Gallagher is batting for his career.211 with 33 doubles, 46 RBIs, and seven home runs.

He was taken by the Royals in the second round of the 2011 MLB draft, coming from his hometown of Lancaster’s Manheim Township High School.
