Nottingham Forest’s head coach Steve Cooper has been fired.

Five of Forest’s previous six Premier League games have ended in losses, including last Friday’s 2-0 home loss to Tottenham.

When Cooper took charge, the team was at the bottom of the Championship in September 2021. That season, he guided them to the play-offs, where they defeated Huddersfield at Wembley.

Following Forest’s 1-0 victory over Arsenal at home in May of last year, he managed to keep Forest in the Premier League, and since the team’s return to the top division, a lot of players have joined.

Nuno Espirito Santo, a former manager of Wolves and Tottenham, is the front-runner to succeed Cooper at the City Ground. According to Sky Sports News, the Portuguese manager may be named before Forest’s upcoming Saturday home match against Bournemouth.
