The only remaining healthy quarterback in this unsettling parlay was Jared Goff.
The NFL season’s most ominous parlay ought to have the Detroit Lions wrapping quarterback Jared Goff in bubble wrap.
Five quarterbacks—Goff, Aaron Rodgers of the New York Jets, Deshaun Watson of the Cleveland Browns, Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals, Trevor Lawrence of the Jacksonville Jaguars—hit different yardage markers in the aforementioned paralyzed play.
This clearly has a lot of problems: Rodgers, Watson, Burrow, and Lawrence have all had injuries this season, and Burrow, Watson, and Rodgers are all out for the season.
The only quarterback in this parlay who hasn’t yet suffered a serious injury is Goff.
I have grave concerns about Jared Goff’s security.
Now, we’re not saying that Goff will always have poor luck when he’s included in this parlay; even Lawrence, who hurt his ankle on Monday night, hopes to make a comeback this season.
Still, we’re a touch leery given Detroit football’s past.
