BREAKING NEWS: New York Giants Re-sign Former Star Cornerback….

Cornerback Darnay Holmes returns to the Giants on a one-year deal.

In order to reinstate one of their secondary depth players, the Giants reached a deal.

According to a source, cornerback Darnay Holmes and the organization have agreed to a one-year contract.

Over the course of four seasons, Holmes has played 54 games.

He was a fourth-round pick by the team in 2020.

Last season, Holmes played in 16 games and had two interceptions along with a forced fumble.

The 25-year-old played just 12 percent of the defensive snaps but played 45 percent of the team’s special teams snaps.

The move comes while former Giants outside linebacker Jihad Ward, 29, signed with the Vikings, the team announced.

Ward started 20 of the 34 games he played with the Giants over two seasons, recording 67 tackles, eight sacks — five coming last season — 22 quarterback pressures and four pass breakups.

The Giants no longer had a place in the lineup for Ward with the emergence of Boogie Basham to go along with Benton Whitley, Kayvon Thibodeaux, Brian Burns and Azeez Ojulari.
