Lance Heard Ends Visit to Tennessee
Lance Heard, an offensive tackle for LSU Tigers, visited the Tennessee Volunteers on official business a few days ago after registering on the NCAA Transfer Portal last week.
The Tennessee offensive line coach Glen Elarbee lost a few offensive line contributors to the NCAA Transfer Portal, but he won’t be replacing as many starters as he had originally anticipated. Lance Heard, an offensive lineman for LSU Tigers, is a strong contender to join them as they search the web for another offensive tackle who might be able to get snaps.
In the 2023 signing class, Heard ranked No. 15 in the 247Sports Composite Rankings. The native of Louisiana chose the LSU Tigers over a number of elite universities in order to play collegiate football at home. Heard looked through his possibilities on the transfer site after spending a season in Baton Rouge.
He stopped by Knoxville, Tennessee, for a brief visit over the weekend. Heard will now travel to Norman, Oklahoma, for a visit with the Sooners, who have come on strong for Heard in recent days. There’s still optimism in the Tennessee building regarding their chances, but Heard’s visit with the Sooners could be the deciding factor. He could make other visits during his time in the portal but hasn’t scheduled any other dates.
