The Main Factor That Made Daniel Farke Wanted Star at Leeds United
When he brought Ethan Ampadu to Elland Road, Leeds United manager Daniel Farke envisioned someone who would be a calming figure inside an otherwise inexperienced locker room, the Athletic reported.
When Farke joined the Yorkshire club at the beginning of July, the German was given the go-ahead to lead them back up, and two weeks later, he signed Ampadu.
The former Norwich City manager’s decision was prompted by his prior knowledge of the player.
When Farke managed Norwich, he attempted to sign Ampadu but was unsuccessful.
He signed the player as soon as he got the chance at Leeds because he was a calm presence in an otherwise inexperienced dressing room.
Farke believed that Ampadu would serve as a cool head among the furor surrounding the promotion chase during what was expected to be a demanding season.
Ampadu has proven the manager’s right to be optimistic by playing in all 38 league games for Leeds United and providing defensive cohesion for the group.
For Farke, he has also played a variety of positions on the field, including central defense and defensive midfielder.
The German boss even gave the Wales international the captain’s armband.
