Eagles news: A.J. Brown misses practice, Jalen Hurts a full participant; Jason Kelce addresses the elephant in the room
Jason Kelce calls hype video an ‘honest assessment’ — and call to action
Before Monday’s wild-card game against the Buccaneers, the Eagles unveiled their first-round hype video, which opened with the phrase “the fans are frustrated.”
It doesn’t exactly seem like a lucky beginning.
However, given the Birds’ recent poor play, Jason Kelce—the video’s narrator—says it was the most “honest assessment” of the team’s situation going into the postseason and is fostering optimism about a potential turnaround.
“We’re obviously disappointed with how we’ve played over the last two and a half months, but we ultimately put ourselves in a position to be in the postseason,” Kelce remarked. We’ve also occasionally played extremely excellent football this season. It serves as a reminder to ourselves and to the reality that, on any given week, we compete with anybody if we put in our best effort on the field.”
“I think it’s, it’s pretty much is what it is, it’s an honest assessment of what’s happened recently, but also an honest assessment of what can happen if we get the thing turned around.”
A.J. Brown misses practice again, Jalen Hurts a full participant
With one noteworthy exception—Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (finger) went from restricted to full participant—the report was very identical to the one from Thursday, suggesting that he will be available to play against the Bucs on Monday night.
A.J. Brown, the wide receiver, injured his knee during Sunday’s Giants game and missed practice for the second day in a row.
