Despite his age, the 32-year-old New Zealand striker has been playing well for Nottingham Forest this season. Before playing Tottenham, he had already scored 11 goals.

He made it to 12 in thirty minutes.

He slid in from the right side and sent his side level in north London, making no mistake from eight yards out.

He now has four games in a row with a goal, capping an amazing run of play.

Stretching back further, he has managed 10 goals or assists in his last 10 appearances, and is currently boasting a conversion rate of 41%, the best of any Premier League player since 2011.

Moments later, though, he showed that he was only human as his strike struck the post and he missed from two yards out.

Is he the one to drive away Forest’s anxieties of being demoted?

“It makes perfect sense” David Prutton praises Nottingham Forest for their choice to pay £80,000 a week.

David Prutton has been debating whether Nottingham Forest’s decision to retain Chris Wood for one more season is a smart one. The prolific striker is signed to stay at the City Ground till the end of the next campaign.

Wood has completely taken everyone by surprise in the 2023–2024 Forest persuasion. He scored his 12th goal of the season in all competitions on Tuesday against Fulham.

Wood joined Forest’s ranks for the first time in January 2022. When it was announced that the striker would play three games before his loan deal became permanent for £15 million, fans lost it.

Actually, it seems like the supporters could have had a point last season. He only ever scored once, against Manchester City, before suffering an injury that kept him out of the game for the last six weeks.

Wood’s redemptive journey has now been enormous. He has demonstrated his value to the Forest supporters and shown that he is a capable stand-in for Taiwo Awoniyi, who is injured.
