Taiwo Awoniyi - Taiwo Awoniyi hands Nottingham Forest major fitness boost in fight against relegation

In their fight to stay in the league, Nottingham Forest stands to benefit greatly from the arrival of Taiwo Awoniyi.

The £17.5 million attacker Awoniyi is scheduled to have a scan later this week about a thigh injury, and Nuno Espirito Santo, the head coach of Forest, is getting more and more optimistic that he will be ready for the last stretch.

Before the 1-1 draw with Luton Town on March 16, the Nigerian international suffered the setback during practice, raising initial concerns that he may miss the entire campaign.

This season, Awoniyi has scored six goals in the Premier League, and with the team lacking many offensive alternatives, Chris Wood is under more pressure to stay fit.
