Even though he has seven years of professional experience and is at the peak of his football career, Patrick Mahomes is already thinking ahead and has expressed a desire to own an NFL team.
“From my perspective, I can truly calm down once I reach that point. However, they make it really difficult for you to get there,” the Texas Tech alumnus stated in a media interview. He said that Tom Brady, a different player, is already making an effort to take over as team leader.
“That’s definitely the direction you want to go because I love this game, and I want to give back in any way possible when I’m done playing,”Mahomes continued.
He said that he will always support the Chiefs, but he also stated that he wanted to keep the competitive edge that has guided him throughout his life.
Mahomes enters the Formula One world
Mahomes and teammate Travis Kelce joined a group of sportsmen who contributed 200 million euros to the Alpine Formula One team earlier this week.
Football players Trent Alexander-Arnold and Juan Mata, boxer Anthony Joshua, golfer Rory McIlroy, and Roger Ehrenberg, the group’s founder, are among the other well-known members.
Their affiliation with the Otro Capital group enabled them to make this investment. After selling its 24% share in Alpine Formula One in June, Otro Capital, RedBird Capital, Maximum Efforts Investments, and actor Ryan Reynolds bought the company.
Mahomes’ participation in additional sports
Mahomes owns a minority stake in the Kansas City Royals, a Major League Baseball franchise, in addition to Alpine Formula One. Brittany Matthews, his fiancée, owns a portion of the Kansas City Current in the NSWL.
The quarterback talked about his experiences watching a few Formula One events and how much he enjoyed the atmosphere. He said, “Obviously, watching ‘Drive to Survive’ on Netflix, you see how competitive it is.”
