Pittsburgh Steelers QB Dwayne Haskins dies at age 24 in traffic accident

QB Dwayne Haskins of the Pittsburgh Steelers passed away on Saturday in West Palm Beach, Florida, as a result of a traffic accident. At the age of 24, Haskins was.
The tragedy’s announcement was announced by Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin in a statement on Saturday.
“I am devastated and at a loss for words with the unfortunate passing of Dwayne Haskins,” Tomlin remarked. “He quickly became part of our Steelers family upon his arrival in Pittsburgh and was one of our hardest workers, both on the field and in our community.”

As per the Florida Highway Patrol in West Palm Beach, Haskins was engaged in a “fatal vehicle vs pedestrian crash” early on Saturday morning at about 6:30 a.m.

NBC News received an email from Lt. Indiana Miranda stating that the football player was trying to cross the westbound lanes of Interstate 595 while on “a limited access facility for unknown reasons” due to approaching traffic. That’s when he ran into a dump truck that was approaching.

Miranda stated that Haskins was declared dead at the spot and that there is still an ongoing investigation into the traffic homicide.

“Dwayne was a fantastic friend to a great number of people, but he was also a great teammate.” I’m genuinely devastated,” Tomlin remarked. “Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Kalabrya, and his entire family during this difficult time.”
Haskins, an Ohio State University great quarterback in the past, will turn 25 next month.
Despite playing just one season as a starter, Haskins broke Big Ten records, placed third in the Heisman Trophy vote, and developed into one of the finest college football players.
