After the annual Red and White Spring Game, head coach Sam Pittman formally announced Boise State transfer Taylen Green as the starting quarterback of the Arkansas Razorbacks. It seemed like only a matter of time.

“Our quarterback is Taylen Green, without a doubt,” Pittman declared following the victory. “But after that it’s a wide open race and I’m not saying any of them can’t go get Taylen, I’m not saying that, but I believe he’ll work hard to keep his position.”

After throwing three touchdowns for the red team in the first half of their 38-12 victory—finding Tyrone Broden, Andrew Armstron, and fellow transfer Ja’Quinden Jackson—Green was named their starting quarterback.

Razorback fans will get their first look at Green against a real opponent Thursday August 29 against Arkansas Pine-Bluff. The Hogs season opening game will kickoff at 6:30 P.M. at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock.

Only hours after being injured during a spring game, Arkansas running back enters the transfer portal

Isaiah Augustave, a running back for Arkansas, said on Saturday night that he will be utilizing the college football transfer site. Shortly after participating in the Razorbacks’ spring game, he took this action.

The timing wasn’t well received by Hogs supporters and made for some bad optics.

Here’s the thing. Augustave will not be the only player to leave his respective college football program after going through the spring practice period. That list will be pretty substantial.

However, most players choose to enter the portal before playing in the spring game.

Of course, “most” is not “all.” Wide receiver Montana Lemonious-Craig entered the transfer portal one day after going for 154 yards and two touchdowns in Colorado’s nationally televised spring game last year. He later landed at Arizona and actually played against his former team in the fall.
