As a true freshman at Alabama in 2023, Proctor started 13 games and was selected to the All-SEC Freshman team.

Proctor used the transfer portal soon after former head coach Nick Saban retired, landing at Iowa, the school of his birth, although he would quit the team in less than two months.

Proctor’s current goal is to regain his starting position this autumn following a mediocre first year.

With this Saturday’s A-Day at Bryant-Denny Stadium, the Alabama football program entered a new phase. Legendary head coach Nick Saban will not be roving the Crimson Tide sidelines for the first time in almost 20 years. Rather, it will be Kalen DeBoer, the former head coach of the Washington Huskies, who earned maybe the most coveted coaching position in college football history by using his team’s success in the College Football Playoffs last year. There won’t be a grace period; DeBoer will be the program’s 28th head coach. Although working in Tuscaloosa entails expectations of championships, DeBoer is lucky to have a wonderful team to work with this season.
