The 2024–25 basketball roster for the Kentucky Wildcats is still being built by Mark Pope and his staff.

Since coming to Lexington, Pope has not in the slightest slowed down his recruitment efforts, and in the last two weeks, he has accumulated quite a few stories.

Pope has always been a huge fan of Kentucky basketball, and his recruiting efforts have validated that.

Following their visit to Lexington, Kyle Tucker of The Athletic spoke with the family of Kentucky commit Andrew Carr.

Tucker claims that the Carrs had missed their trip to Lexington and were traveling to Kentucky after visiting Texas Tech. After arriving in Nashville, the family leased a car to travel to Lexington. After learning about the circumstances, Pope hopped into his own vehicle and traveled to Nashville to take the family to safety personally.

Late that evening, Pope managed to pick up the Carr family near Bowling Green. Remember that earlier that day, Pope had returned from a trip to Las Vegas.

Tucker claims that at four in the morning, Pope dropped the Carr family off at their Lexington motel.

This is a really great tale, and Kentucky supporters should be happy with Pope’s hiring and pleased of the amount of work he has done since moving to Lexington.
