At the University of Kentucky, John Calipari has won 400 games to this point.

In the 90-77 victory over Mississippi State at Rupp Arena yesterday night, John Calipari achieved the historic victory, raising Kentucky’s record to 13-3.

UK statistician Corey Price claims that Calipari is the eighth-fastest player at a single school to accomplish 400 victories, having done so after 516 games.

Calipari is only the second coach in school history to win 400 games at Kentucky; the other two are Tubby Smith (263) and Joe B. Hall (297).
With regard to total career wins, Calipari now has 803 (the NCAA total determined after vacated wins are subtracted), which puts him just two wins behind Rick Byrd, who is ranked 13th all-time, and three behind former UK coach Eddie Sutton, who is ranked 12th.

It is John Calipari’s 400th victory as head coach of the Kentucky men’s basketball team. With the victory, the UK team’s record now stands at 13-3 overall and 3-1 in SEC play. This further cemented Calipari’s unique spot in college basketball history.
