Forest won op de laatste dag tegen Burnley met 2-1 op Turf Moor.
The Reds started the game with the front foot and broke the tie with less than a minute left.
Anthony Elanga maakte ruimte op de rechterkant en leverde een uitstekende cross across the goal face for Chris Wood to score with a first-time effort at the far post.
Forest ontdekte via Wood een tweede doel binnen twaalf minuten.
Ryan Yates fired goalwards from the edge of the area after Morgan Gibbs-White pulled the ball back, and his shot took a deflection off Wood and into the back of the net.
The flag was raised, but the decision was reversed after a VAR check for offside, so the goal stood. The striker netted a quickfire brace and his 15th.
Before the break had Forest another opportunity when Anthony Elanga drove inside and curled a shot wide of the far post.
In the dying embers of the first half, Wilson Odobert saw a close-range effort well blocked by Harry Toffolo, but The Reds went into the break with a deserved two-goal cushion to demonstrate their dominance.
Half uur: Burnley tegen Forest 0-2
