So what was he thinking when he sat by the fence, cross-legged? Alfandari clarified, “You know how you’re supposed to approach this.” Just step back from your thoughts for a moment. It worked, so relish the moment and be joyful for other people as well. Alfandari finished second in the outdoor championships held in the spring of last year. This year, he was the second seed for the indoor states, but he finished third and was not happy with his performance the whole indoor season. He looked forward to the meet every Saturday, but when the Saturday finally arrived, he was not becoming better at his throws. He repeatedly launched 51 feet into the air.
