Dundee United look to have won the fight to sign Will Ferry….

In the upcoming days, United hopes to complete negotiations for the out-of-contract Cheltenham full-back. In order to get the 23-year-old, Jim Goodwin is expected to defeat interest from both sides of the border. Ever since United was promoted back to the Premier League and Scott McMann was allowed to depart the team, Goodwin has been pressing for a deal. Ferry came up through Southampton’s levels and has been at Cheltenham for the past two years. Additionally, United and Crewe have agreed to a two-year contract for custodian Dave Richards. The 30-year-old chose a permanent move after spending the previous season on loan at St Johnstone.

In the past, Goodwin achieved success when he paid little over £500,000 to Hungarian team MTK to acquire North Macedonian striker Bojan Miovski during his time at Aberdeen.
