After Cristiano Ronaldo was substituted following the shocking 2-0 Just in: loss to Georgia, he angrily kicked a water bottle. Portugal’s manager Roberto Martinez supported the disgruntled player.

After replacing Ronaldo with Goncalo Ramos, Martinez, who was looking for an answer to goals from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Georges Mikautadze, hooked the Al Nassr striker after just over an hour.

But Ronaldo remained silent, watching from the sidelines as Portugal lost to a Georgian team 66 places lower in FIFA’s world rankings, resulting in what was statistically the largest upset in the history of the European Championships.

Ronaldo was seen kicking a water bottle before sitting on the bench, expressing his dissatisfaction following a challenging performance  struggle with Luka Lochoshvili, the center back, who was visibly tugging the Portugal striker’s shirt, but he managed to avoid giving up a penalty.

After the game, Martinez questioned the impartiality of the VAR and felt that Ronaldo should have been given a “clear” penalty. Mikautadze was eventually given a spot kick for Georgia’s second goal.

Martinez told the journalists, “We were unlucky at times.” “If it was a penalty for Antonio Silva, it was even more obvious for Ronaldo, but the VAR was inconsistent.”

“Georgia had the game of their lives and we didn’t match the intensity.”

Ronaldo’s wild night did not finish there. As he was leaving the field, he barely escaped getting into a strange fight with a fan.

When Ronaldo was walking down the tunnel, a fan leaped over the fence to approach him. Security moved the supporter away before he could make contact with the 39-year-old, who was also the target of other pitch invaders during Portugal’s tournament triumph over Turkey.
