It is not unusual to hear discussions about specific players during the transfer window between Chelsea and Liverpool.
Both of the English teams have been among the busiest in previous windows, and as another summer approaches, they should be very busy.
Of course, while Todd Boehly and company continue to pour money into the team, Chelsea is busy trying to get the greatest young players in the world.
Under Arne Slot, Liverpool is entering a new chapter, and new players are anticipated.
Naturally, a lot of players are connected
The likes of Crysencio Summerville, Joshua Zirkzee, and Nico Willams are all among the potential targets for Liverpool.
However, another potential Reds signing, Max Beier, could now wind up at Chelsea instead, according to German journalist, Christian Falk.
Max Beier is now desired by Chelsea and Liverpool.
Falk wrote in his most recent Daily Briefing for Caught Offside that Beier is a player Chelsea may eventually pursue rather than Liverpool.
Maximilian Beier, a German international from Hoffenheim, is of interest to Chelsea FC. The athlete isn’t yet persuaded by the alteration, though,” Falk added.
A cheap option in an expensive market
Lauded as a player who is ‘very fast’ and has similar abilities to Thomas Muller, it’s clear that Beier is set for a big future.
Currently at Hoffenheim, Beier scored 16 goals last season and earned himself a place in the German squad at the Euros.
Beier is still only 21 and at less than £30m, could represent a bargain in an age where strikers cost more than ever.
Chelsea and Liverpool, then, could be set for another tussle here.
