LEICESTER, ENGLAND : Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall of Leicester City.

Since Steve Cooper was hired to take over for Enzo Maresca, who has since left for Chelsea, the Foxes have been working hard behind the scenes.

In addition to rapidly adding a set-piece coach from Norwich City, Cooper is reportedly interested in adding Belgian international Arthur Theate to his roster.

But Leicester City is facing an appeal for allegedly breaking Premier League spending guidelines, and they might potentially break the regulations again before the June 30 PSR deadline.

Pinning down the future of a crucial player, who now appears destined for the exit, has thus been a difficult task for Cooper ever since he arrived at the King Power Stadium. This is because a Premier League midfielder was included in the trade.

Jakub Moder will replace Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall at Leicester City.
Although Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall scored 26 goals in the 2023–24 season and helped Leicester City win promotion from the Championship, the team’s main goal threat is leaving.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Leicester City and Brighton have reached an agreement on a trade for Dewsbury-Hall and Polish player Jakub Moder.

Chelsea is apparently still interested in signing the 25-year-old, but Brighton appears to be the more likely contender as the Englishman has already scheduled a medical.

Moder has failed to establish himself in the Brighton lineup since making his comeback to football from a cruciate ligament injury; this season, he has only been given six league appearances.

At Leicester City, can Jakub Moder match Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s skill set?
Moder sustained a chronic injury that prevented him from playing for the full 2022–2023 season and kept him out of the game for a noteworthy 575 days.

The midfield player has gradually made his way back to playing for the first team, but even before his injury problems, he was a true talent.

He was an integral member of Brighton’s 2021–22 team, which finished ninth, just one spot behind Leicester.

He made an impact at full-back and was utilized on either wing, but his primary role for the Seagulls was midfield.

His two seasons at Lech Poznan also demonstrated his goal-scoring ability as a midfield player, as he scored nine goals in 40 games prior to being called up to the Premier League.

Moder is undoubtedly a player who, in peak form, could assist Leicester City in reaching their goals, but very few could match the incredible season that Dewsbury-Hall had. If Leicester were to repeat their previous season’s achievements, they will require more firepower in addition to Moder.

Supporters of Leicester City are aware that their chances of surviving in the Premier League the following season depend on keeping Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

Under the leadership of Steve Cooper, Leicester City will start the next campaign having won the Championship under Enzo Maresca to earn promotion.

Before the preseason even began, Leicester faced an uphill task when Maresca left to take the vacant management position at Chelsea.

That’s not even taking into account the club’s financial difficulties, which include an ongoing appeal against a violation of Premier League spending regulations and the need to try and straighten things out before the next PSR deadline on June 30.

Despite their promotion, Leicester is going through a difficult period, and their financial issues have raised concerns that they may have to sell their top player, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, this summer.

After expressing interest, the player himself has finally discussed his future with Brentford and Brighton among others.

Despite saying “you never know,” Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is “happy” with Leicester City.
As a lifelong Leicester supporter, Dewsbury-Hall rose through the ranks to become, at 25, possibly the team’s best player.

Leicester’s hopes of surviving will be greatly dependent on the midfield player staying with the team after his outstanding play last season, when he contributed 26 goals to the Championship triumph.

But because he came from the academy and is the club’s most valued asset, any sale would be pure profit in accounting terms. For this reason, he is the most likely to go if the need for money becomes critical Speaking about his future, Dewsbury-Hall said to BBC Sport, “I have been here since I was a kid.”

“I adore every aspect of the club.” I was able to play for the first team as I grew older. I’m content.

“I have never expressed a desire to go on my own. That kind of thing is outside my purview. With football, you never know. The season is about to begin, so we’ll see.

Although Dewsbury-Hall’s statement that he is content with the Foxes is comforting, Leicester supporters won’t find much solace in it.

Given that Leicester won’t have a lot of money to spend this summer, the former loanee from Luton Town has raised the possibility that an exit is imminent whether he likes it or not. This may be disastrous for Leicester’s hopes of remaining in the Premier League.

With plenty of suitors for Dewsbury-Hall, Leicester may have a long summer of speculation even if they make it past the PSR deadline untouched. We shall see, as the season is about to begin.
