A couple of important players have strengthened the lineup of an Original Six franchise. The Boston Bruins announced on Monday that defenseman Nikita Zadorov and forward Elias Lindholm had signed multi-year contracts. After concluding their 2023–24 season with the Vancouver Canucks, both players relocate to New England. Lindholm signed a seven-year contract that will pay him handsomely. The contract will expire at the conclusion of the 2030–31 season with an AAV of $7.75 million.
Throughout the playoffs, Lindholm’s play improved. In 13 games for Vancouver, he recorded five goals and five assists, but the team was ousted in the second round by the Edmonton Oilers. In 818 NHL games, the former Carolina Hurricane has scored 218 goals, provided 339 assists, and finished with 27 points in 40 postseason contests. Zadorov committed to a six-year contract with the Bruins that included a $5 million cap charge through the 2029–2030 season. Following the Flames’ November transfer of the Russian blueliner, Zadorov moved to Vancouver. The bulk and brutishness that Zadorov adds to the lineup is exactly what the Canucks needed. The former Buffalo Sabre recorded a plus/minus of +6 while scoring five goals and 14 points in 54 games in his new quarters. Zadorov scored six goals in 75 games during the regular season.
