One month after having knee surgery, Aston Villa playmaker Emiliano Buendia provided an update on his injury recuperation. The 26-year-old suffered his setback in one of our final training sessions, just before the start of the Premier League season, which made it a harsh blow given the anticipation for his role this year. It will undoubtedly be a challenging process and journey for the Argentine midfielder in the upcoming months as he’s anticipated to miss the majority, if not all, of current season. It is therefore crucial that he maintains his positive attitude and keeps making progress while he’s around the team. As he approaches one month since his surgery, Buendia has provided a detailed progress report on Instagram, as seen below. He has been posting frequent updates over the past month, and teammates like Alex Moreno have also posted on social media to show support for his teammates. He thanked the club and his family for their support thus far, spoke about the emotions he had experienced, and seemed as determined as ever to recover from the injury as strongly as before. Buendia also included a number of pictures and videos that showed the progression of his recovery up to that point. Despite the fact that the exercises he is performing are all tentative and done with caution, it is wonderful to see Buendia making steady progress. He is back on the bike and in the pool, doing his workouts. Time will tell if he can return to the lineup at the end of this season, but for now, the most important thing is that he keeps making progress, does so at a good clip, and avoids setbacks. It was also great to see him post updates from Villa Park on Saturday, where he was present for our victory over Crystal Palace, showing that he still keeps in touch with his teammates.
Roy Hodgson acknowledged that he was content with his choices at Crystal Palace during a week in which central midfielders were frequently discussed in football […]
