This weekend’s Championship match between Blackburn Rovers and Middlesbrough.

Despite their inconsistent season thus far, Blackburn Rovers ought to attempt to win this match with a perfect score.
With seven points from five games, Jon Dahl Tomasson’s team is now in 13th place in the Championship table. They achieved a significant victory against Watford on the road, but a loss to Plymouth Argyle the following week prevented them from building any momentum going into the break.

Middlesbrough has seen much more difficulty than many would have predicted. Over the summer, Boro lost a number of key players, and none of the replacements have yet to make a difference.
Although Michael Carrick’s team is expected to turn things around, they currently sit at the bottom of the standings with just one point from a possible 15.

Here are some of our writers’ predictions for the match.

Charles Ray
“It seems like we’re just waiting for Middlesbrough to start working together before they put together a run and start to move up the table. After such a dismal start to the new season, the issue is that it’s difficult to forecast when that will occur.

“Blackburn are prone to slip up, though, and with an underperforming Boro visiting, we could see the hosts.
“Middlesbrough are a side capable of more and if they’ve put the break to use, they could return to action looking much improved. Rovers, if they’re not on their game, could be caught off guard.

“It’s tough to call but I think I’m going to go for a draw. This could go either way.”
