A trialist played for the Ibrox team against Monaco in a B team encounter.

In today’s match between Rangers’ B squad and Monaco at Ibrox, teenager Yan Diomande from the Ivory Coast was given the chance to make an impression.

The teenage winger began for Rangers with some of the more well-known B squad players absent in anticipation of maybe playing in the first team match between the Ibrox club and St Mirren on Sunday before the international break, with Steven Davis’ team urgently in need of a victory.

The Northern Irishman continues to serve as temporary manager, and tomorrow’s first team is set to comprise Ross McCausland, Bailey Rice, Zak Lovelace, Johnly Yfeko, and Cole McKinnon, who were absent from the B team. However, they did designate a trialist, who is thought to be Diomande, who impressed during the loss to Monaco. Paul Nsio scored the game’s lone goal for the home team as the French squad won 3-1.

He played with AS Frenzi, which won the United Premier Soccer League championship in America earlier this year. He was also voted the competition’s player of the year. The UPSL, which is considered the fourth division of American football, impressed the young player because many of the teams consisted of U19 teams from MLS teams.
