Reading will most certainly have minus four points when they resume league play, which puts them at least six points behind Cheltenham Town and roughly 15 points away from safety as the division’s halfway point approaches.
The past few seasons have already been challenging for Reading supporters, and tragically it looks like the club’s atmosphere will only become worse. The Royals appear poised to go into administration, and this information makes it less likely that they will finish the current season in League One.
The club’s largest transfer window ever may occur in January, but if signings are prohibited, Ruben Selles’ job will only get harder.
