Callum Wilson will need surgery on a pectoral tendon injury and the doctor have confirmed him as…..

It has now been reported that Callum Wilson will need surgery on a pectoral tendon injury

If so, it would almost certainly rule him out for the rest of this season.

I therefore decided to move things along and give his career at Newcastle United its final blessing.

For Callum, who is wearing the recognizable black and white stripes, this is not the end. It’s been written on the wall for a longer time than I can recall.

If a decent offer is made, I think it’s time to stop losing as I don’t see a stay of execution in the summer.

When healthy, Callum Wilson is an excellent and skilled goal scorer. Because of his numerous injuries, this season has been especially disastrous for him.

The fact that, since joining us in the summer of 2020, he has only made 91 Premier League appearances in four seasons for Newcastle United is far less spectacular.

We shall all wish him well when he moves on.

He’s a nice guy who took advantage of the chance to be our No. 9 player.

Bringing in the firepower needed for a serious and prolonged attack in the League and domestic competitions next season will need a lot of work in the coming months, whether it is Dan Ashworth or someone else.

We should ideally bring in two forwards. A reasonably seasoned goal scorer to relieve Alexander Isak of some of the load, and ideally a young, hungry apprentice ready for the first team pool.
